Description
The Eighteeth NanoPix Intraoral Digital Sensor is an ultra-thin CMOS digital X-ray sensor (4.5 mm thick) for chairside intraoral radiography. Direct-deposition CsI scintillator + 16-bit AD conversion + AED (Automatic Exposure Detection) deliver high-resolution diagnostic images with complete image processing in under 6 seconds — from exposure to patient chart.
If You Currently Use…
Dentsply Sirona Schick 33, Carestream RVG 6200, Dexis Titanium, or Planmeca ProSensor — the Eighteeth NanoPix is the equivalent CMOS intraoral sensor at a fraction of the cost.
Key Features
- Ultra-thin 4.5 mm body — minimizes patient discomfort, easier placement
- CMOS + CsI direct deposition scintillator — high sensitivity, low patient radiation dose
- 25 lp/mm theoretical resolution, >12 lp/mm measured — high diagnostic detail
- 16-bit AD conversion — broad dynamic range for both enamel and bone visualization
- AED (Automatic Exposure Detection) — sensor wakes on X-ray exposure, no foot pedal
- USB 2.0 interface — plug-and-play, no battery
- IP68 rating — fully waterproof for disinfection and infection control
- Image processing < 6 seconds — from exposure to display
- NanoPix imaging software included (Patient management, Acquisition, Viewer, Report)
Available Sizes
| Model | Active Area | Mechanical Size | Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|
| NanoPix Size 1 | 20 × 30 mm | 25 × 38.5 × 4.5 mm | Pediatric, anterior, narrow arches |
| NanoPix Size 1.5 | ~ 22 × 33 mm | ~ 28 × 41 × 4.5 mm | Universal adult |
| NanoPix Size 2 | 26 × 36 mm | 31.6 × 45 × 4.5 mm | Adult posterior bitewing/PA |
How To Use
- Install NanoPix software on the operatory PC
- Connect the sensor via USB
- Cover the sensor with a single-use barrier sleeve
- Position the sensor in the patient's mouth using a holder (Rinn XCP recommended)
- Align the X-ray cone (e.g., Eighteeth HyperLight) to the receptor
- Trigger exposure — AED detects X-ray and captures automatically
- Image appears on screen within 6 seconds; review in NanoPix Viewer; save to patient chart
- Wipe sensor with hospital-grade disinfectant between patients (IP68 rated)
Software included: NanoPix Patient Management, Acquisition, Viewer & Report (Windows). DICOM export supported.
