Description
Pulpdent EDTA Solution 17% is an aqueous chelating agent used during root canal therapy to remove the inorganic smear layer, demineralize dentinal walls, and improve sealer penetration into dentinal tubules. The buffered 17% disodium EDTA formulation is the gold-standard endodontic chelator.

Vista SmearClear™, Roth's File-Eze EDTA, or Sybron RC-Prep® — Pulpdent EDTA Solution is the equivalent 17% EDTA liquid chelator for irrigation, at a lower cost per mL.
Key Features
- 17% disodium EDTA — clinically validated concentration
- Removes smear layer — opens dentinal tubules for better obturation seal
- Aqueous liquid formulation — easy syringe irrigation
- Buffered pH for predictable demineralization
- Three bottle sizes — 60 mL (single-clinician), 120 mL (small office), 480 mL (multi-op bulk)
Indications
- Final irrigation during root canal therapy to remove smear layer
- Chelation of calcified canals to facilitate negotiation
- Improving sealer adaptation in obturation
How To Use
- Complete mechanical shaping with rotary or hand instruments
- Irrigate canal with NaOCl (sodium hypochlorite) throughout cleaning and shaping
- For final irrigation: deliver EDTA 17% into the canal with a side-vented endodontic needle
- Leave EDTA in place for 1 minute (longer can over-demineralize dentin)
- Rinse with NaOCl, then sterile saline final flush
- Dry canal with paper points and proceed with obturation
