Description

Kulzer Gluma Bond 5 (formerly sold as Gluma® Comfort Bond) is a 5th-generation, light-cured, single-component bonding agent for direct and indirect adhesive restorations. Compatible with total-etch, self-etch, and selective-etch techniques, Bond 5 simplifies your bonding protocol with one bottle, no mixing, and a fast 10-second light cure.

If You Currently Use…

3M Adper™ Single Bond 2, Kerr OptiBond Solo Plus®, or Bisco One-Step® — Kulzer Gluma Bond 5 is the direct equivalent single-bottle 5th-generation bonding agent, with the added benefit of built-in glutaraldehyde desensitizer chemistry inherited from the legacy Gluma Comfort Bond formula.

Key Features

  • 5th-generation single-component — no mixing, no waste
  • Light-cured — fast 10-second cure with standard LED curing lights
  • Built-in desensitizer effect — Gluma chemistry reduces post-operative sensitivity (sealed dentinal tubules)
  • Total-etch, self-etch, and selective-etch compatible — fits any bonding technique
  • High bond strength to enamel, dentin, ceramics, metals, and composites
  • Thin film thickness — minimal interference with restoration seating
  • 4 mL bottle refill — approximately 80–100 applications per bottle
  • REF: 66057341

Indications

  • Direct composite restorations (Class I–V)
  • Indirect inlays, onlays, and veneer cementation (with dual-cure resin cement)
  • Bonding sealants and orthodontic brackets
  • Reduction of post-operative sensitivity
  • Crown and bridge cementation (in conjunction with resin cement)

How To Use (Total-Etch Technique)

  1. Etch enamel for 15–30 seconds, dentin for 10–15 seconds with 37% phosphoric acid
  2. Rinse thoroughly and remove excess water (leave dentin moist — wet bonding)
  3. Apply Bond 5 to the entire prepared surface using a disposable applicator
  4. Gently agitate for 20 seconds
  5. Air-dry with a gentle stream of dry air for 5 seconds (no pooling)
  6. Light-cure for 10 seconds
  7. Place composite or seat the indirect restoration
