EBIKO ships from Ontario across Canada, priced in Canadian dollars.

Who uses barrier film

  • Tattoo and piercing studios, on power supplies, switches and other hard surfaces touched during a session

It is a surface barrier for equipment only, not a skin or wound film.

Frequently asked questions

What is dental barrier film used for?

It covers small, hard surfaces that are touched during treatment, so you can peel off the used sheet and put on a fresh one for the next patient. Common spots are chair control pads, light handles, switches and other buttons in the operatory.

Can I use barrier film on a dental chair?

Yes, on the small parts of the chair: control pads, buttons, switches and handles. A 4 × 6 in sheet is too small for the backrest or headrest, so use chair cover sleeves or headrest covers there. Check your chair maker's guidance on adhesive barriers before you start.

How do you use barrier film?

Tear a sheet off the roll at the perforation and press it onto a clean, dry surface. After the appointment, peel it off, throw it away and apply a new sheet. Barrier film does not replace cleaning and disinfection, so follow your clinic's procedure and the equipment and disinfectant instructions.

Is barrier film the same as barrier tape?

Usually, yes. Many people say barrier tape, barrier film or protective film for the same peel-off sheets on a roll.

Do I need a dispenser for barrier film?

No. You can tear sheets off by hand along the perforations. Some clinics prefer a dispenser to keep the roll in one place on the counter.

Can I use this barrier film for tattooing or on skin?

Use it on equipment and surfaces only, never on skin. Tattoo studios use it to cover things like power supplies and switches. It is not a skin-protectant, wound or tattoo-aftercare film, so do not put it on a new tattoo.
