Description
The NIC DT Blue File is a heat-treated nickel-titanium pediatric rotary file system for primary-tooth endodontics. Featuring Max Tech 6.0 processing — yielding a distinctive blue appearance with greatly enhanced flexibility — DT Blue is purpose-built for curved primary canals where conventional rotaries are too rigid.
When To Choose Blue Over Gold
Use NIC DT Blue for moderately to severely curved primary canals (~30°). For straight or mildly curved primary canals where cutting efficiency is the priority, choose NIC DT Gold (Max Tech 3.0).
Key Features
- Max Tech 6.0 heat-treated NiTi (Blue) — greatly enhanced flexibility and cyclic-fatigue resistance
- Pediatric 16 mm working length
- Two tapers — .04 (DT4 Blue) and .06 (DT6 Blue)
- Four ISO sizes (20–35) plus 20–35 assortment pack
- Color-coded ISO ring
- Autoclavable at 121 °C / 15 min or 134 °C / 3–5 min
- 6 files per pack
How To Use
- Establish patency with appropriate pediatric hand files
- Run at low RPM (300–500), low torque, in continuous rotation
- Use DT4 Blue for conservative shaping; step up to DT6 Blue for wider canals or final coronal flare
