Description
Labstone is a premium Type III dental gypsum stone formulated for general laboratory work — articulations, denture flasking, master models, and repairs. The thixotropic mixture pours with smooth, flowable consistency and hardens to a rigid, dimensionally stable cast suitable for everyday model work.
Key Features
- Type III gypsum (yellow / buff) — all-purpose model stone
- Thixotropic formulation — smooth flowable mixing, fast pour into impression molds without trapping bubbles
- Strong mechanical properties — rigid set casts that resist abrasion during trimming and articulation
- Fast set time — initial set in 8–10 minutes for efficient workflow
- Consistent, predictable results — reliable expansion and compressive strength batch-to-batch
- Easy handling — flows smoothly, blends quickly, low foam
- Yellow color — high contrast against typical impression materials
- 50 lb (≈ 22.7 kg) box — laboratory bulk size
Indications
- Articulating models for occlusal analysis and treatment planning
- Flasking acrylic dentures (full and partial)
- Pouring crown & bridge master models (basing)
- Repair and remount models
- Custom tray fabrication and study models
How To Use
- Measure powder and water per the recommended water/powder ratio on the box label (typically ≈ 30 mL water per 100 g powder for Type III)
- Add powder to water, hand-spatulate to wet, then vacuum-mix for 30 seconds
- Pour into impression on a vibrator within working time (~3–5 minutes)
- Allow initial set 8–10 minutes; full set ~30 minutes before separating from impression
- Trim and articulate; finished model is ready for laboratory work
